Mysterious Death of Tupac Shakur On September 7, 1996, Tupac Shakur, a famous rapper, was at the MGM Grand Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada, attending a Mike Tyson boxing match. After the match, Tupac left with Suge Knight, the CEO of Death Row Records.
There was a fight in the lobby involving Tupac, his bodyguards, and Orlando Anderson, a member of the Southside Crips gang from Compton. The fight was stopped, and Tupac and Knight left in Knight’s car, with Tupac’s friends following in other cars.
On the night of the incident, as Suge Knight’s car stopped at the intersection of Flamingo and Koval in Las Vegas, a white Cadillac pulled up next to them. Someone from the Cadillac shot Tupac Shakur four times and grazed Knight in the head with a bullet fragment.
In 2014, retired LVPD sergeant Chris Carroll revealed that he was the first police officer on the scene. When Carroll opened the car door, Tupac fell out covered in blood. Carroll asked Tupac, “Who shot you?” Tupac took a deep breath but only responded with curse words before losing consciousness.

After being shot, Tupac Shakur was rushed to UMC hospital where he was put on life support and placed in a medically induced coma. Despite efforts to save him, Tupac passed away on September 13, 1996, six days after the shooting, at the age of 25. The Las Vegas Police Department did not arrest anyone in connection with the murder.
They also did not follow up with Yaki Kadafi, a member of Tupac’s entourage who said he could identify the shooter. Sadly, Kadafi was killed just two months after Tupac’s shooting, before he could be interviewed. To this day, no suspects have been named and no arrests have been made in Tupac Shakur’s murder.
